Gosia van Unen (born in 1968 in Poznan, Poland) is a multidisciplinary artist, author, educator and naturalist with M.A.'s in linguistics, literature and business from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland and University of Chicago, U.S. Born in Poland she lived and worked in the US, Egypt, Finland, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia and participated in several solo and group exhibitions between 2005-2021 (see the list below). An active member of Tashkeel Studios in Dubai, she participated in several exhibitions, development programs and Critical Dialogue workshops in the UAE.

Based around the concepts of space, time and memory her practice is expressed through a wide range of media; paintings, videos, sculptural objects, photography, poetry and installation often incorporating electronic components. Reflections, multiple images and shadows invite the viewer to explore other realities and observe them from a different perspective.

She is the author of “Through the Sands of Color. A Comprehensive Guide to the Natural World of Saudi Arabia,” a unique publication containing almost 500 images of iconic landscapes, flora, fauna, rocks and minerals collected, researched and consolidated during her stay in KSA. She is a regular contributor to regional magazines writing about art and nature.
