Lost in Space (2010-2015)

Digital photography (available as prints on paper, transparency and aluminum, size variable)

"Lost in Space" explores spaces that by their very nature seem to defy the passage of time. Charged with universal energy that desert landscapes possess, they seem unaffected by the transitory human presence. Abandoned remnants of our civilization are only remainders of their humbling timelessness. Time passes at different scales here. Natural desert spaces transform in the ever so slow rhythm, carved over time by weathering and erosion, the relentless forces of nature. Surrounded by those powerful landscapes one's own existence seems ever so fragile and transitory. We are suddenly lost in space wondering if our short time here can be of any significance.
